Threat Landscape and Exposure Assessments

Sep 04, 2024

DEFEND’s Threat Landscape & Exposure Assessments utilise the threat management capabilities of our partner, Google’s Mandiant, and other threat intelligence tools and sources.

To provide you actionable insights into your organisation’s digital footprint across the clear, deep, and dark web and an attacker’s view of your external attack surface so you understand what systems are exploitable by an adversary to gain access to your I.T. environment.

Most organisations find out they have been the victim of a cybersecurity attack long after the initial intrusion takes place. But these attacks are often the result of meticulous planning, detailed reconnaissance of the victim’s digital perimeter and in-depth research on their employees, board, business partners and supply chain. The attacker’s activities leave a digital trail if you know where and how to look, and uncovering this trail increases the chance of preventing a compromise before it can damage your brand, reputation, operations or financial standing.

DEFEND’s Threat Landscape Assessment collects and analyzes information from external sources on the clear, deep, and dark web by actively searching specific keywords associated with your organisation’s digital footprint, alerting you to potential attacks or breaches that may cause you harm.

DEFEND’s Exposure Assessment provides an attacker’s view of your external attack surface and an evaluation of the likelihood of exploitation, categorisation of exposure, and targeted remediation that effectively prioritises the most critical threats first.

DEFEND’s expert Threat Analysts will work with you to establish your digital footprint (email addresses, VIP names, brands, and other keywords) and identify digital assets such as IP addresses, netblocks, ASNs (Autonomous System Numbers), domain names, websites, and API endpoints.

Multiple options are available for single one-off assessments or continuous managed services, depending on business requirements. One-off assessments will run for up to a month, and any findings requiring immediate response and remediation will be notified to you upon discovery. A summary report of all findings will be provided at the end of the assessment.
